Short Sale Questions To Ask
When buying a short sale we recommend asking a lot of questions before making an offer. First, how much does the owner owe on the home? This will quickly determine how much the owner is upside down on the home. How many liens are on the home? This will also help understand how many banks the owner will be dealing with. The more banks the more time the short sale will take to process. Is there a short sale approval from the bank already? Often times owners will get short sale approval before they put their home on the market. If this has already been done then it will speed up the process. Has the bank already approved the list price? This is a big one. A lot of real estate agent will put the home up for a low list price. Often times banks will counter this number so knowing this up front will save you a lot of time.
