2018 has been a great year for Carlsbad real estate with a very strong economy and buyer confidence at an all time high. The highest sale this year took place this year at 2649 Ocean Street as pictured below. The 5 bedroom home offered 6,358 square feet of living space and sold for $11,500,000 and closed escrow on March 16th, 2018. The property was originally listed at $14,950,000 and was on the market for a total of 110 days when the owners accepted the offer. The location was a premier ocean front spot along the famous Ocean Street that is lined with luxury homes with stunning white water views. 2649 Ocean Street was truly amazing and was newlyweds built in 2017 and offered a very Contemporary architectural design both inside and out. All 3 levels of the home offers beautiful ocean front views with outdoor terraces and decks. Some of the features found in these homes include glass elevator, rooftop deck, outdoor jacuzzi and direct beach access.
The second highest sale came in at $6,500,000 and closed escrow on August 14th, 2018. 5067 Shore Drive was also an ocean front home located on the south end of Carlsbad beautiful white water views. The three bedroom home offered 5,215 square feet and was originally at $7,695,000 when sold after being on the market for a total of 168 days. Some of the features included large picture windows with direct ocean views, open floor plan, stunning Master suite with wrap around glass windows to take in the ocean front views. The lot was unusually large and had a direct beach access. We still have another two and half months left in the year so anything can happen.
