One of the newest neighborhoods in Carlsbad is the The Golden Surf community. This is small neighborhood of 5 new construction homes that were built in 2018. The homes are located on Camino De Las Ondas street with real estate prices starting just above one million dollars. Sizes range from a three bedroom, two and a half bath home with 2,313 square feet to a four bedroom, three and a half bath home with 3,283 square feet. The demand for these types of homes in the last couple of years has been very high with new communities like Robertson Ranch selling very well.
One of the selling points is not having any homeowners association dues and Mello Roos tax which is almost standard procedure for most new construction neighborhoods. Some of the features that can be found in these homes include an open kitchen area with center island, top of the line appliances, attached two car garage, contemporary garage door, tankless water heater and a home equipped solar system. The location is sure to please those with children as it's located within walking distance to the Pacific Rim Elementary school. The lowest priced home is currently at $1,069,990 and goes put up to $1,599,990 for a panoramic ocean view home with a main floor bedroom and over 3,200 square feet of living space.
The location is considered South Carlsbad between the cross streets of Palomar Airport Road and Poinsettia Lane just east of the 5 freeway. It's an easy drive down to the beach with easy freeway access. It's also within a short drive to Legoland and the outlet shopping center. Finding a new construction home for right around $1 million in today's real estate market seems to be a very fair price considering the cost to build and the close proximity to the beach.
