The Agave at the Preserve is a brand new construction community with 88 two story townhouses currently under construction. I had the opportunity to view these homes and was pleasantly surprised by the open floor plans and outdoor spaces that are incorporated into these homes. Four of the model homes are open right now and give you good sense of the various floor plans that will be available to purchase. One of my favorites was the corner unit townhouses that offered lots of natural light from lots of windows located on two sides of a room.
The floor plans are relatively the same idea with just variations in square footages and small design changes. The main living room and kitchen area are located on the ground level with both rooms open to each other creating a "great room." Upstairs is where you will find all of the bedrooms that are generously sized. Square footages are over 1,400 square feet which is bigger than most beach homes in Carlsbad so be prepared to pleasantly surprised.
Agave homes will come with two car garages and fenced yards that incorporate a barbecue area. The models have finished this outdoor living space with a custom barbecue grill station which makes you want to spend more time outdoors. One thing to keep in mind is that these homes are located pretty close to each other so if all your neighborhoods are outside at the same time be prepared to make new friends. There are monthly association dues here at the Preserve with the current rate at $389.00 a month. There is also a semi-annual Mello Roos fee so keep that in mind when figuring out your monthly cost. If your not ready to buy right now there will be 3 additional neighborhoods built next to Agave so you still have time.
The location is really great and within walking distance to a Walmart Supercenter, Albertson's grocery and Kohls retail store. There are lot of small restaurants in this shopping center with a great Poke restaurant as well! It's also within a couple block radius to the freeway making it really easy to connect with other parts of Carlsbad.
